The first session is about getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been challenging, what you hope to gain from therapy, and begin building a foundation of trust. You’re welcome to ask questions, go at your own pace, and share only what feels comfortable.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions, especially in the early stages of therapy, to build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may move to biweekly or monthly sessions depending on your goals and progress. This is something we’ll decide collaboratively.
I am out-of-network with insurance providers. However, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement. I recommend checking with your provider to confirm your out-of-network mental health benefits.
EMDR is a highly effective, research-backed therapy approach often used for trauma, anxiety, and negative thought patterns. It can be especially helpful for clients who feel “stuck” or overwhelmed by past experiences. We’ll explore whether EMDR is a good fit for you as part of our early work together.
At this time, I specialize in working with adults and couples. If you’re seeking therapy for a child or teen, I’m happy to refer you to trusted providers in the community.
Getting started is easy—and I’ll walk you through each step. You can reach out through my Contact page to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation or request your first session. I look forward to connecting with you.
